Generate Traffic With Blogs

One year ago, my father asked me, the young internet entrepreneur, “What’s a blog?” I paused for minute. I had heard the term before … but I couldn’t answer him. I honestly didn’t know. Little did I know that so many people would soon tap into a new type of gold mine and make money with blogs.

Elated, I built other blogs. The more lines you have in the water, the better chance you’ll catch a fish, right? Each was slightly different than the preceding one, but I still hawked the same products. All have links back to my “main” website, and all have brought me sales.

Look at my new project are easier to create and maintain. Also, updating and adding content is much easier to do and the owner can learn how to do it fairly easily. Blogs rank higher with the search engines as well because the content is added to and updated far more often than with websites.

Blogging software has become simplified for even the beginner user. It allows you to avoid the pitfalls of having to learn HTML, and instead does it for you. Sites that offer blogs usually have low cost or free blogs, which offer your home based business the ability to be present on the internet for little to no cost. You will not have to hire some website designer to come in and create an entire website or wait for them to update your site when you have new information. Blogging becomes your web advertising tool for your work at home business.

Where does the money come in? Well that will come in time. My favorite source of income from blogging is from Google’s AdSense program. To join AdSense signup for an account and then place code into your blog posts. The code then appears as an ad once posted. When users click the ad, you make money. The price you make per click varies each time but can sometimes be more then just a few bucks. It all depends on the market/niche your blog falls into. See Google’s AdSense will pull ads relating to the content on your website.

Think about your own interests. If you are interested in a particular hobby or topic, the chances are good that thousands or even millions of other people are. What is your favorite reality television show? People blog about Survivor, and some of those blogs have a huge following. This goes to show you that even if you do choose a topic that many people are blogging about, you can still make it unique enough to become quite popular.

Make it a habit to post to your blog regularly. You can post daily, weekly, or even monthly – but posting daily or weekly will get you the best results if you are trying to learn how blogging can help you with SEO. Blog posts can be long or short. If you have a lot of time to write, make them long. If you only have a few minutes to spare each day, write one or two paragraphs – just be sure to use your keywords and key phrases!
