Travel Blogs For Baby Boomers

Have you ever gone a trip to a new city or state and found a great little store? Or perhaps, you love to fish or hunt and on your travels you found the perfect place to indulge in your favorite sport? Maybe, you visited a great little restaurant that had all the ambiance you want for a weekend getaway?

I myself have a travel blog, and its a real treat to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and escape to a far off destination on my blog. You can lose yourself in the Kasbahs of Morocco, or dance the night away in the carnivals of Rio. Or maybe just sip a cocktail or two by the pool in Florida. The choice is yours.

It’s not possible to travel to all places. Sometimes, you may be required to write on places which you have never visited. A good travel writer would also be a good reader. You should have a sound geographical knowledge about places. You should read a lot to increase your knowledge bank. For a travel writer, it is important to read and write a lot. In fact, you should always keep a notepad ready to jot down descriptive notes of the places which catch your fancy.

Promoting others includes doing three things for them: referring, following, and commenting. All of these things are about contributing to the buildup of social buzz for the other person.

Food Blogs: Wanna be a food critic? You’re an aspiring chef? Why not blog about your favorite eats. You may even begin doing restaurant reviews. A growing and profitable niche I should note. And who doesn’t like to eat?! Blog about it!

Local clubs/Events: Does your local town or city have a blog. You could start your blog around the local community, local events, blog about local businesses. Get your local sports and social clubs involved. Promote local events such as carnivals, sports days. Get the local school children involved, run competitions from your blog, with prizes offered from local business. Look for unique angles, promote your local community.

Your choice of a blog theme does make a telling impact on the kind of blog you are running. So make sure you choose something that is going to be a value-added proposition to your readers.
